A couple of us recently travelled to Brooklyn for something quiet, cosy and surprizingly groundbreaking. Following the invitations of 3 young members of the meditation community, called yuvas, many flocked at the artsy loft-apartment in Brooklyn. I personally felt is was a good mixer weekend to put faces to names from Boston and NY/NJ. Yuvas from Pittsburgh and our hometown Ann Arbor, MI participated. A long time meditator presentated the vision for yuvas who meditate. One of the most powerful take aways from the presentation was that the yuvas - wherever they go, whichever country they settle in - they are always the hosts and never the guests. Something that rings quite true today. This was a part of other powerful and lovely principles given by H H Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi on a train ride from Bombay to Pune in 1987.
A Havan for establishing good vibrations in Brooklyn followed. We dared the wind chill factor on the apartments rooftop. The Saturday concluded with a seminar for the artsy residents of the apartments building. The yuvas had gone out to poster and plodder the residents around them to come and experience their self realization.
The seminar practically concluded with the screening of Baraka - the stirring silent move from 1992.
